Every step of the way, He has been guiding me.

Over the past years, I have been astounded again and again as the Lord teaches me that He has a plan, and that His plan is good. Every time, He surprises me with good things, and I am amazed.

This story begins last November, on a Thursday. Since that day of beautiful blessings from God, Thursday has been my favorite day of the week.

I got a phone call that day to learn that a dream had come true–a community of writers I loved was forming into a Guild in which we would focus on publishing together. I was bonkers with excitement. The same day, the editor of my novel offered to work with me.

Fast forward to last May. I received a notification from the Guild that changed something for my writing career. It offered me a huge opportunity which is now changing from a dream to a reality.

“We’re writing a short story anthology,” it said. “Do you want to be a part?”

I am thrilled to announce that the very first anthology written by the S. E. Guild of Authors and Artists will be released at some point this spring.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the incredibly talented and wonderfully organized Andrea Yenne. This anthology would not be possible without her. We’re all so so thankful.

So. What does this anthology entail? Alongside twenty-five other gifted and lovely writers, I have been writing, editing, and working toward the publication of a fully illustrated short story anthology for the last seven months (surprise!). Lord-willing, the result of our labors in book form will be released in May! I had the immense privilege of giving developmental feedback to half of the 26 stories, and I know y’all are going to love them.

I am also hugely excited to share my contribution to the anthology with y’all. It’s a story I wrote to process some big changes in my life and in the lives of my friends, and it is near and dear to my heart.

I was thinking the other day about how the Lord has guided by steps up to this point. He gave me the desire to write. He connected me with the online community through which the Guild began. He inspired me to write the story which you will hold in your hands in just a few months. He is the God of yesterday, and today, and forever. He is present in each moment of my life and each moment of history. He is so good. He gives such good gifts. And I am thankful.
